So, Google is finally taking on Microsoft. After months of speculation, the big G announced on their blog that they are going to release a Linux-favored operating system of their own, targeted at netbooks, called Google Chrome OS. Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We’re designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web.

Google’s Chrome OS isn’t the first operating system to challenge Microsoft Windows’ commanding lead. But it’s got an advantage that other rivals such as Linux lacked: the Web. Any new operating system must attract the developers who produce the applications to make it useful. The trouble Windows challengers have had is matching the wide spectrum of software available for Windows already. Chrome OS That software includes mainstream titles such as  Microsoft Office , Quicken, Adobe Photoshop, games, but also innumerable programs for narrower niches such as genealogy.

Google Translate, the online language translation service from Google has added a handy new upload feature. Till now, we had to either provide URL or manually paste text to perform language translation. Now you can perform direct translation of contents of any file by uploading to Google Translate. Related – Google Translate desktop client tool, Windows & Linux While on Google Translate, click “upload a document” button. Then browse & select specific document, select “to” “from” languages and hit the translate button.
