Domain for a Linux site
You may not realize this, but you probably already do, that it doesn’t really matter whether the server with the domain on it is Lenox or Windows. You can go to any registrar and obtain a domain name and it does not matter where your hosting. You can go get a godaddy promo code and obtain a discount on a domain and use it on any server.
In other words the registrar never asks what type of operating system is running on the server. And it does not really matter because the registrar simply point of the name servers in the name servers then determine where to ultimately point that domain. A domain is going to particular IP and it may be a Windows or Linux server. So get a domain, the domain you want, and do not worry about which server or type of servers it’s going to go on.
Whether it be a Windows server or a Lenox server, or renewing a domain, masking a domain or forwarding a domain. you may have been told that does make a difference but clearly it does not so do not worry about it. Obviously if you want just check next time you register a domain and realize that they never ask you where your hosting or what type of operating system it is.
