The plan was to leave the house at 7am this morning, but I wanted to make sure I said goodbye to the family, so it was more like 7:11am when I finally left the house. I did not anticipate the traffic I encountered on the way to the airport. Needless to say I was stressed, I really don’t like time schedules, they really stress me out. I finally got to the airport at 8am for a 9:10am flight. Yes cutting it close especially since I have to actually check a bag this time.

According to a Dow Jones report, all Vaio PCs are now using Chrome as their default browser. There’s a rumor about upcoming Tegra-powered netbooks that would run on Google’s Chrome OS. The surprising part is that they would seem as early as that month. It is strange considering the Google OS was not scheduled to be ready until 2010… Also, NVIDIA has not been pushing Linux and Tegra as a … Gadget News

Linux has come a long way.  I am sitting here writing this on a netbook tricked out with the Alpha Release of Ubuntu Karmic Koala.  It’s amazing.  Ubuntu One is included by default, giving users an immediate opportunity to backup and sync all of their computers without batting an eye.  Empathy has finally replaced Pidgin as the default IM client, reducing the memory load drastically.  The interface has been tweaked and is much cleaner than previous versions.  And like a little kids in the back seat of the family station wagon, we can finally start saying “Are we there yet?” and get the response “Almost”.

Nucleic Acids Res. 2009 Jul;37(13):4472-81. Epub 2009 May 27. Directed evolution of an orthogonal nucleoside analog kinase via fluorescence-activated cell sorting. Liu L, Li Y, Liotta D, Lutz S. Department of Chemistry, Emory University, Atlanta, GA 30322, USA. Nucleoside analogs (NAs) represent an important category of prodrugs for the treatment of viral infections and cancer, yet the biological potency of many analogs is compromised by their inefficient activation through cellular 2?-deoxyribonucleoside kinases (dNKs).
