I never thought I would say this so here goes. You may want to try Facebook when looking for good deals on domain hosting. Many companies now have their own and then there are with a call fan pages or community pages. When I was looking for Go Daddy deals I came across as Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/GoDaddyAddicts, and there happen to be coupons.
What I Find Interesting
What I find most interesting about looking for deals on a Facebook page is the fact that people can be candid. Much like a third-party review site people can leave messages and notes about the company and what is happening in real time. Many times review sites are after-the-fact and sometimes they can be months old.
With a Facebook page the most recent messages are at the top you can see what is happening right now. You can determine if people seem to be happy or upset if they are upset with which part of the service they are upset with. I found both positive and negative comments about godaddy on that page above. The negative ones seemed to be isolated issues and not directly related to godaddy’s service, at least that was the impression I got.
It is a great way to determine which particular companies will you want to do business with. Not only can you find deals when looking at a Facebook page but you can find the sentiment of users. The one caveat I would mention is the fact that most people only write something when they are upset. It is rare that someone would make a note on a page when they’re happy. It does happen but usually only if someone is extremely happy with the service are getting. If you see a bunch of positive reviews on a third-party website then you must know the company is doing something really right. At least that is my opinion. While most comments may be negative, at the very least you can determine what people expect and what they’re getting from particular provider. Just my 2 cents, maybe Facebook is becoming more useful than I thought.

I’ve been working on a bunch of new web sites lately, and now I’m at what I consider to be the most fun part of the process: coming up with the domain names. All the hard work is done, figuring out what kind of web sites I want to make, coming up with topics for each, doing the design and choosing platforms, creating the basic content to start them with. Now I just need to come up with good domains names and register them before someone else snatches them up. Figuring out domain names is an art all to itself: all the obvious domain names have already been taken, so it’s all about being clever and coming up with catchy titles and creative spellings.
That is my motto. Linux was never about one developer, it's about a community. That is how I think about this site, it is not about me at all, so enjoy and share.
